About six decades ago, when Hitler began his campaign to exterminate the Jewish nation, very few persons took him for his word. In the end, six million Jews were wiped off - a Holocust being denied till today by sceptics. Six decades later, times have changed, the world has become wiser, more suffiscated, alligned & united.
The recalciterant position of the Iranian President in which he makes bold statements on "wiping Israel from the face of the earth" I believe, has come to a watershed. In this 21st century, such a genocide-inciting statements can never be dismissed by the wave of the hand; I see the end of his regime in sight.

Think for a moment, how would the world have reacted if he had said, "SAUDI ARABIA SHOULD BE WIPED OFF FROM THE FACE OF THE EARTH?"

Ahmadinejad is just a figurehead, he holds no real power. Iran is ruled by a conclave of Ayatollahs.

Ahmadinejad is a democratically elected president of Iran. His term will be ending next year 2008, when the new Iranian presidential elections will be held.

Ahmadinejad is a politician, and just like any other politician, his speeches are filled with rhetorics.

G W Bush at one time said in his speech "Bring 'em on" referring to Islamists. Many consider these words as clear provocation.

Even Ronald Reagan during his time, stirred controversy by stating something to the effect that means "wipe out the Soviet Union" or "bomb Russia to oblivion".

I don't think so. I think his plan of wiping Israel from face of the earth will happen all over the world to all Jewish and Christians . Armenian Genocide was planned by Jewish (Ataturk, Talat and Enver were Jewish converted to Muslim, from Eastern Europe) done by Turkish is denied until now. The world does not react until it happens to them. Nuclear Holocust is next.

unfortunately for israel - many people arent talking because they would be happy to see it go. Isreal has done the same to palestinians that hitler did to the jews (take their land, jail their men, crush resistance, etc), so it DOES leave many skeptics, and many people are sick of it

I DONT SUPPORT HIS VIEWS BY THE WAY

however, saudi arabia has not invaded another country, except for israel i believe, in centuries, so many dont feel resentment towards it

also infortuantely for israel, ahmadinejad is growing more popular by the day, whole israel is losing what ground it has with every policy it has towards lebanon and palestine

Ahmadinejad is in a political fight, right now. His policies are under fire and the moderate Iranians know that they are about to lose all their rights.

The problem isn't him as much as it is the clerical influence that he protects. That is the real power in Iran. Ahmadinejad would not live long if he broke with the Islamic powers.

Well it may be near. If they nuke Israel or appear about to, I think Israel will destroy them first.
