Many years ago, my grandmother used to say "Believe nothing you hear and only half of what you see"
No, I do not believe everything that I hear. I have heard too many things----also, my perceptive of something may be different than the person telling the story.
I remember, also, in school that our teacher would start a statement at one side of the classroom--it would be whispered to each student in turn around the classroom. By the time it got to the end--it would be far, far different than the orignial statement.

Those are TWO different questions. Everything you hear is one thing, what you find out for yourself another.

Mostly it depends on the source. If its someone I have faith in, I tend to believe them, but often, people present jaded views so I try to get more info from other sources. If it's from the media, I will often research various sources to get a more rounded picture.

When it comes to people I like to make up my own mind usually, unless they are doing something completely wrong in my standards, like drugs or other kind of troubles, which I want nothing to do with, then it doesn't really matter what they're like as I don't want those friends as examples in our kids' lives.

Never without some sort of affirmation, confirmation or inner dialog that puts whatever it is through mental and emotional scrutiny first.

It is a hard thing to do with information because most things, opinions and feelings of a mass or public nature are almost always relative and or subjective.

Depends on the topic. Sometimes I'm too naive. When judging people, I tend to not listen to everything I hear and figure them out for myself because people can see/view others differently.

As a rule I beleive NOTHING anyone says EXCEPT my husband. He is the only person who does not let me down or make up stories.

Everyone else who speaks, I must follow up with research, to see if they are full of shlt or not.

I think it's important to be skeptical in today's society, when in doubt, I check it out. Too many times people try to take advantage of others...sad but so true!

I do research, especially if it has to do with politics.
