for an older snowmachine. could it be frozen from the weather since it was out in the elements?

If the pull start has froven it means the piston is stuck. take the spark plug off and pull on the pull start if it doesent worke put the petrol in the cylinder through the spark plug hole. if that doesent work try putting. WD40on it. if all else fails get the engine rea done by a mechanic

I'm guessing it's a Briggs & Stratton.

The starter clutch slides over the end of the crankshaft. If it has rusted, the blower housing will have to be removed

Then the clutch will need to be removed from the flywheel. (it unscrews) after you remove the screen.

Then clean up the rust on the crankshaft with fine sand paper.

Put it back together,

heat. also pull out the plug and spray some wd 40 to help it turn over.

Try liquid wrench that stuff is amazing it will un stick just about anything. Good luck!
