I put up 1 wall, and a barrier of fire. The first one is just to see if you can handle me socially, I'm usually extra gross, revolting and socially unacceptable. If you can handle that, then I turn it down to my normal socially unacceptable settings. The other is a huge thick wall and I dare anybody to find the chinks in it. But it is the same wall with everybody, I don't change and be one thing for this person and something else for that person. Only a handful of hearty and daring adventurous souls have ever been able to scale the wall. Even my very best friends don't get inside too often. I let my best male friend have a peek once during a maudlin moment and he told me later I scared the heck out of him. So it stays up and sealed shut. The dragon stays chained and bound. It's better that way, for everybody.

Prior to retiring, I put on a front in the workplace for 30 years.
I am a naturally very shy person, and had to speak before groups, some times quite large. Manage contracts, deal with politicians and government agencies. This was in a field which is not noted for its refined and polite conduct. So I had to pretend I wasn't shy. It worked. Good training for playing with YA.
I still put on my act for people I don't like but not with loved ones.

I think most people put their best foot forward in company because if they didn't not many would like them because its hard enough for love ones to like you when you are being a sh...
so this new theory about being yourself 24/7 can get a lot of people unhappiness
They should be themselves in the sense they don't have to agree with your opinion etc but even that can come across as if you are argumentative if you always say " I don't agree with that "
& as i said it would even ping a love one off hahah

No, but I do kick back a while just to study a person. Cause your right majority of people do put on a front. It's hard to be yourself when you don't know who your dealing with.

When we brought home our second JRT pup, our 1 year old male was VERY territorial and seemed to view the puppy as an intruder. We had to stay with them and make it KNOWN that we would NOT tolerate violence within the family. It's best you take the role as the "alpha leader" in your "dog pack". I have also heard that a spayed female is much more comfortable than her unaltered peers. By removing her hormone-producing ovaries, you also remove the mood swings that can make your female dog seem ... well ... bitchy.

I am always ME. It is too tiresome to try and be someone I am not. Besides, when you are yourself you know that the people in your life, your friends, are there because they like YOU. Don't lie or hide about who you are. That is completely unhealthy and will lead to premature wrinkles and stomach problems.

People are going to see you for who you really are sooner or later. Why not just be your self from the beginning? If I can't be me when I meet someone, who will I be the next time?
