You're paying extra for the brand name.
The best way is to go into the stores you're interested in and look at the sales rack.
Abercrombie always has clothes that are on for 80% off and they're nice too.
North Face generally won't go on sale. They're good at what they do, so they hardly ever need to have sales although the price they sell for I think is great.
Ralph Lauren again will be a litte tricky. The clothes that you'll find at their sale rack aren't going to be as nice as the clothes at A&F.
It's all about what you're willing to invest.
Abercrombie - never buy anything there at the listed price. The labour is cheap, the clothes will fall apart.
Always always always buy clothes on sale at abercrombie.
Ralph Lauren is built nicer, although personally I think they're still way over priced.
North Face, spend the money. It's an investment and a good one at that.

So to Asia countries like Thailand or China...theres brand name clothes for like less than $5 a piece(jeans)... and shirts are like $3
