Looking at some of the previous answers reminds me that those who shout loudest have the least to say and the most to hide. The Iraqis that Saddam killed were often killed with the conivance and appoval of Britain and America, not that Britain has had an independent voice for years, and we killed many with the sanctions we imposed on Iraq, which the politicians knew and probably hoped would be the case, so that they could portray what had been their murderous tyrant as now an independent murderous tyrant. Try looking behind the headlines, some of you.

you just cant leave everything to God - akband - its time we came out of our little cave of ignorance and superstition and faced the facts in our face.
jaypea - I live in Dubai and people here hate Bush. Saddam & Osama Bin Laden are heroes and martyrs here. I'm a Bush hater - i havent got my head chopped off.
Maybe the figures given are wrong but the point is - Bush is a criminal and he should be tried for massacre in the International Court of Justice, and so should Ariel Sharon (he ordered the Shattla and Shabila massacre in Palestine)

Hussein was executed BEFORE the Halabja trial, this would have been very embarrassing for the West, and could easily drag some of the leaders into it. A dead witness is no witness, remember, Iraq was sold Mustard gas by the US, and the Iranians had Cyanide, Mustard gas causes burnes, Cyanide causes the shut down of the nervous system. I remember the British Government defending Saddam Hussein in Parliament against these accusations and blaming Iran for the massacre, how times change with no change in the evidence

saddam was hanged todeath . it is not just for the 148 people who are his own countrymen but rather it is his unrelenting or unending dictatorship or his tyrrany on people that made the us to take this stand. it is also to be noted that the one who sentenced him was not bush but it was his own countrymen. when saddam continued with histerror some one had to come forward and bring an end to it . therefore it was rather awonderful gesture on behalf of bush and the american soldiers who are toiling their lives over there.

Dear this just some mistake on our part that we allowed him do to all this if we would had curbed him initially all this had not happened only and the question of punishing Bush doesn't matters much as anybody in his place would have done the same.

President Bush had nothing to do with hanging Saddam. The Iraq government hung him! Read the papers or watch CNN

Tiger! Before I respond would you please be willing to answer a few questions? First, how old are you. Second, give me just a little about your life experience. I have been around for a while and serving in Iraq now. I'm sure you won't mind sharing this information considering you were willing to share such and extreme criticism of Bush and a portrayal of the events and situation in Iraq. I'll get back to you if you want a perspective from the ground.

Get your numbers straight and the remainder of your facts too. Saddam was ultimately going to be tried for the deaths of hundreds of thousands (remember the mass graves?). In addition, there were WMD's (ask the Kurds). As for smashing Iraq and Afghanistan, there is ample proof that al Qaida was in Iraq before the war and the Congress gave President Bush the authority to attack any country which harbored al Qaida. The Taliban was harboring al Qaida in Afghanistan and chopping off women's heads for not putting on those body bag burkas. On the balance of things, I'd say the world will be better off in the long run.
