You probably don't know that a lot of those things are being brought back because of Language inability there!?!?

Ya know that's a great question, and the answer has so many layers. The basic answer is that all major countries have gotten products from other countries because they're cheaper to get someplace else, than to create them at home. It's still very much like the colonization that took place hundreds of years ago, only we don't own these places, we just hire all of their people. The issue of our countries educational system is a greater issue. You can't deny that our educational system is extremely disjointed and lacking in proper funding. You have to remember, we are still a relatively young nation, and we don't really have all the kinks worked out after over 200 years lol. If only we'd pay attention to other countries and regions-- like the Scandinavian peninsula-- we could learn a lot. However, in our culture we have a deeply imbued feeling of "we are always the best and always right," and that's just ignorant. I don't think it goes to strong family ties, or the unit of the family, since our concept of the nuclear family has never really existed properly in history. Sure it's a fabulous ideal, and one I think we all want, but I think the idea of this type of family does more damage than good, what matters is having a "village" to raise a child, meaning, friends, family, and community to help bring up and bring out the best in our children. Have I rambled enough?

you must be either young and don't know the FACTS and using raw emotions, or you're not to well informed because you don't do research. "Then why do they go to India to get the best brains in the world to work in America." This question is very very dumb, and if you are in India and you got your BRAINS from there, then you need to give them back. Although I'm an America, and not to proud these days of being one, I would rather be here in America with people without the best brains( according to you and your kind) than to be where you are,or from with the BEST BRAINS, but asking idiotic question like this. A person will go to another country to receive a different kind of education, and not a better one. And ones total time in Academia is the best learning experience for that person. But does that person receive a better brain? NO? What the hell is a better brain anyway?
the last time I looked people are flooding into America like crazy seeking a better life. There are only a few reasons why someone would leave his or her country in the first place. Running from trouble in their own country, in love with someone in another country, can't find a good job in their own country. I often hear foreigners talking about how good their country is compared with America, but when I ask them why did they come here they get quiet. So before you go making such statements, especially posting it online, you truely need to formulate your thoughts better. I could thrash this statement 'til the punctuation falls off, but I'll be using to much of this not so BEST BRAIN of mine.

Actually we do have a good educational system. But in america it is not valued the same as it is in other countries. We value money and personal gain more then anything else. That is why we have so many from India working as "brains" here. They work for a lot less and still continue there education.

I was honestly under the impression that a lot of those people come here for degrees and then stay here for the higher paying jobs. Every time I go to my dentist (in NYU Dental School) about 80% of the dental students are Indian or Asian (foreign born). My personal dentist (the student who always works on my teeth) has a license to practice in India but is now going to dental school at NYU so she can become licensed to practice in the US because she can make more money here.

They bring qualified people. And most of them...don't look for the job here, they go there for them to bring them here. There is a reason and that's legal. Not all americans have money...look at the MBA,or expensiveUniversities, students, most of them are foreigners

Gosh, I never knew that we're sending anyone over to India to look for brains. I guess you learn something every day.
I like those guys who stick knives through their cheeks, or crawl on their bellies for miles.
We should also get some of those six and seven year old kids to make rugs for us.

their is less accumulated wealth, starvation and lack of basic necessities create an environment where people can really starve and this reality makes people really value education or any acquired skills that can prevent this or help them reach a level of comfort we in western countries take for granted

Because they work cheaper than Americans, also what Americans consider slave wages is considered better that what foreigners can make back home.

Where did you get this idea? Immigrants come to this country because of job opportunities. If you're smart this is probably the one place in the world where you can truly succeed.
