Just an absolute miracle and I plan to send money to the family to help with this transition. The family has financial problems due to all of this especially the search for Shawn. I suggest any money be sent to Craig Akers, his step-father, rather than to Shawn directly since his name may change and have trouble cashing a check, perhaps. I don't feel the immediate need to help the foundation, but it's the family that will need help.

It is a miracle they were found and both together. I live 30 miles from Union and go to school there and this is shocking. I remember riding my bike and playing in the neighborhood until dark with no worries. Now I see all the small children walking home from school and I am very concerned. This is one thing that has so far had a happy ending.Shaun and Ben along with their families have a long way to go with the things that have happened. But with a lot of support from their parents, family and friends they can get through this. The comments about Shaun are also not helping the situation. Innuendo and guessing are going to make it very hard for Shaun no one knows what he has been through. When you are so young you do the best you can and follow orders. The psychology and terror are there and will take time to remove. The families have my prayers and wishes for a successful outcome for both boys.Miracles can happen and the families have indeed received one.

I think it's wonderful that these boys get to go home to their real families, especially Shawn Hornbeck. I think it's awful that Shawn's parents have drug him around to the "Today Show" and "Oprah" instead of spending quality time getting to know their son. As far as allegations of sexual abuse and abuse in general, I'm sure these boys -- Shawn especially -- went through a lot of crap that we'll never know about. Shawn needs time to heal, not appearances on talk shows. As far as everyone going nuts because Shawn talked to the cops 10 months after being abducted and didn't clue the cops into the fact that he was a kidnapping victim, I'm not surprised. For anyone that hasn't experienced abuse, you have NO idea what that boy went through and what he had to do just to survive. I survived years of abuse by my mother and step-father and I had many opportunities to tell someone about it, but I didn't because they had me convinced that it was my fault and I would go away -- not them. I think they ought to put the scumbag that kidnapped these boys in a very dark, deep hole in some prison where the other prisoners don't take very kindly to people who hurt children, so he can have a taste of his own medicine.

I think it is the greatest news. I am so proud that Shawn was capable of going home. As for Michael Devlin I hope he gets the death penalty. I can't stand these sickos who has to go around and steal children. There is no way I could be Devlin's lawyer. He is a very sick man.
