The Electoral College was designed so states with large populations don't have an unfair advantage over smaller states... it guarantees them a voice. Without it small states would become disenfranchised and voter turn out would suffer.

Fortunately we didn't end up with Al Gore, a wishy-washy candidate who would take any position, or change it depending on how the wind blew, anything to achieve his sole purpose of gaining the Presidency.

How long are the liberals going to keep on bleating like sheep over losing in 2004? At least Gore appears to realize now that he's out of the 2008 race, and is leaving it to a host of other similarly unqualified applicants.

I'm not trying to be rude or anything but it's time to move on and get over the Bush/Gore thing.
If you are still upset then maybe you need to do something other than still complain. Join a group that is trying to change the ways or something but it's done and over with. It may have not come out the way we wanted it to but as of right now it was done the legal, by the book way.....
Like my grandmother always told me... "Don't sit on your pockets and complain...get up and do something to change it"....

I can't believe you actually believe Gore won that election. The media jumped the gun on announcing a winner because they were so anxious for the dems to win. This caused Gore to question the election and this caused havoc on our society and our electoral system.

You mean Gore tried to steal the election don't you? I can't imagine how many more terrorists would have attacked the US under Gore. He would be busy chasing the fake Global Warming issue, while we burned in flames.....

The system worked the way it was designed to. If you don't like it, campaigned to change it. But stop whining! And if you think Bush is an idiot, you have not been listening to Gore lately have you?

There is NOTHING in the Constitution that says the people vote for the President. Each state gets so many electoral votes, and how they are used is left up to the states. If you want it changed, get it changed in your state.

The system worked EXACTLY as it is suppose to.

Your confused. That is not what happened. If Gore were president, that would be a terrible thing indeed.

If you don't understand the election process then you really need to go back to school.
