Does anyone have any ideas for keeping the Deer (and Rabbits)
from eating the tops off all my flowers? I have bought the big white bottle of rabbit repellent at Lowe's and they didn't work. I can't use a fence because the area is spread out. Thanks for any ideas

I don't know, but this one may work. It's the use the human hair thing around the area you do not want them in. Deer do not like this and will not go near it. I know it sounds wierd, but go to your local hairdresser's and ask for some hair. Then sprinkle it around where the flowers are and it's supposed to deter them. Good luck!

Frankly its a silly idea to grow flowers in a place where you cant protect them. You will never get them to stay away from something that is a delicacy to them. You're only option would be to shoot the animals otherwise they will keep coming back. Rabbits and venison are excellent eating and you are going to have an endless supply because as fast as you get rid of some others will move in to much on the tasty easy pickings. You could get a hunting dog and let it run loose, that will also work for a while but you wont get much sleep during the night and some dogs when confronted with having to endlessly chasing of vermin.. they get fed up and give up (its can sometimes destroy a good dog and I have seen it happen).

I'm an organic farmer. I plant garlic and onions around the vegetables I grow. The smell is like a repellent.

I make a soup of garlic and hot peppers, strain into a 1 gallon sprayer and spray every few days and after a rain... it also seems to keep away japanese beetles..less damage from them on plants that are sprayed anyway, I have heard that bars of soap hung in fruit trees will keep them away...might be worth a try
