Thats a debatrable question EMMA ...I believe in the holy ghost who appeared the bible but i have never seen him in modern times....but I have to believe him and if I did I would know that my time would be up.There s some people who"have" and they believe in them and there are people that have'nt and they dont believe in them. I cant really swear that I have seen one...human or animal. Sometimes children see them before adults. You would have to be living near a cemetery that is haunted or house where a person has died. If you saw one in your room it is a good reason to believe. I once read in a book of ghosts and hauntings that in a village one day a little girl wandered away from her home when suddenly a white shape appeared. She was not afraid it held her hand and walked her back home. The next day she was going out her mother said"where are you going". She said only for a little walk just to meet that friendly ghost. Off course it could have been a guardian angel.

Yes. On a personal level I have seen my grandfather's ghost (my cousin saw too), had an encounter with another trying to open my bedroom door (girlfriend witnessed), and a ghost that came about playing with seance. On a scientific front energy can not be destroyed; therefore the electric chrg that all humans possess has to go somewhere. Now whether or not that "spark" also contains our "essence" remains to be proven...

Its a hard one to explain for me.
I don't believe in ghosts. But I do too. I don't believe that alot of people have seen them, i've had a few encounters though myself.
In a house in florida, i woke up one night about 2 foot off the bed. The next day my nan was in the same room and she was with a blonde woman in the same room, then my dad came in, and she disappeared.
I lived in australia and one night saw a head appear though a wall.
Last febuary i was driving home at about 1am and saw a man in the road, and i asked my girlfriend what he doing standing there, she couldnt see him. He was dressed in military attire. I looked on the web for some info on the area and apparently people have seen an old airforce pilot from the war walking around. The road was right next to an old airbase.
Last July I dreamt i went my grandads house (who had recently passed away) and he said to me "I bet you thought you'd never see me again!" then woke up. I told my dad, he had exactly the same dream, in the same sequence of events, but his dad said to him "I told you I haven't been well these past 6 months!". When he was to be cremated, by dads brother had his ashes in his cupboard until it was possible to spread them. Nothing has happened in this room all their lives, but in the 3 nights they were in there a picture fell off the wall next to the cupboard, and the next night the railing in there fell down.
My reasons why,

Yes I do believe in ghost. When I was young I lived in a house that had one in it. When I was older I was gonna walk to the store before it closed at midnight and I saw one sitting in a wheel chair. So I went and got a few more people and they saw it to. I think it was warning me not to go that way and not at that time. So I never went that way. I have even seen a ghost where I live now. It hasn't bother me at all. And it woke me up once at the time I needed to get up in a hurry.

I believe in them 99%, I sense them and feel a tickling sensation frequently on top of my head at the back, and I see flashing lights in my peripheral vision out of the corner of my eye and sometimes in front of my eyes. I saw an optician and he reckons it is the jelly-like substance in your eyeball that rubs against the retina that causes the flashing lights, but I am open-minded and wonder if they are orbs (my dead sister or Grandmother trying to manifest/appear in spirit form).
I hope to see an apparition one day. It'll scare me but at least I'll know 100% for myself that spirits/ghosts exist...
Good subject this is and there are some great answers, which have helped me and the topic starter too no doubt. :-)

I do. I am catholic and we believe in limbo....where your soul goes to be cleansed before it can enter heaven or rejected to hell. What I beleive is that limbo is actually earth...only the spirits cannot been seen or heard by the human eye/ear. I think that small children are more senstive to things like that and that some can see them, even though they are too small to realize. Also some video recordings can pick up noises that we cannot hear on our own...along with camera's that can pick up orbs...i think thats what they are called. I'm not supersticous...I just believe that sometimes the world we share with these spirits sometimes crosses over.

Yes, I do. I would say, I experienced seeing Ghosts.
Ghost is the spirit of a dead person. I have seen a person who died a year ago in the flesh and when I tried to come closer the person banished in thin air. It is just a spirit - a ghost. It may be just a pigment of my imagination.
As it happens to me, I believe. If it is hearsay, I will doubt it.

Define ghost! Ghosts are generally considered the lowest strata of spirit presence. All human beings go into their spirit form on death. The spirit (eternal) leaves the now dead physical/material body and still exists. How it exists and where it exists is what can cause what some consider to be ghostly encounters.

Yes I believe in ghost just like I believe we are here on earth for a reason.Ghost have there reasons for being here too.But everybody can't see them.Sometimes I see them from the corner of my eye and wonder why they just won't appear? There has got to be a reason for them being here.Although we call it the holy spirit many call it the holy ghost I often wondered which one is it?
