Lots of answers.... It appears to be a tracing wheel.
When using patterns, the darts ( where you take up fabric for fitting) is marked on the pattern piece for the bodice (the top of the garment) or other fitting place. I.e. for the breast fitting. (we know we aren't all the same don't we?)-- To transfer the marks exactly, you would put a piece of folded tracing paper between the two pieces of fabric and using the wheel, go over the marks on the paper pattern thereby transferring the marks to the fabric for sewing. There are very specific instructions on the instruction sheet inside the pattern-- with pictures! I always have to check!
good luck

It is a tracing wheel for tracing patterns onto material. You put the tracing paper between the pattern and the material and go around the edges with the tracing wheel and it will appear on the fabric so you can cut it out.

Its a tracing wheel, you put tracing paper between the cloth and then put the pattern on and then trace it so it leaves a sewing line

it's called a tracing wheel - lol!

my grandma says its used when u stitch clothes according to a "block". you're s'posed to lay the block on the material, and then use the wheel to trace the shape onto th material, and then u stitch along the lines.

hope that helped, and good luck with your sewing - unfortunately that's something i'm lousy at :(

If it has a tiny serrated edge to it, it's a tracing wheel, used to transer pattern markings onto fabric using tracing paper, which is covered in a chalky substance that marks the fabric for sewing later. Please describe it better and I'll try to help you.

If its sharp, its the greatest thing since the scissors. I use mine all the time for cutting quitl peices out. You should have a "self healing" board along with it. Use that board for cutting material on with YOUR pizza thing.

: )
