Amithabh Bachchan Sir?

Question

I have immense immense respect for him and i think no body can represent India better than him. I also want to clarify that his acting is worth worshipping. But i want to know how many of u think- in terms of his acting and being a superstar....he was at the right place at the right time?

Yes it was true that He got the advantage of being at the right place at the right time but this surely was not all that he had. He represented the dis-illusion-ed ethos of youth with contemporary anger against the system. This along with his capabilities has made him click.

Well you are right that he is an excellent actor and he has been improving his skills over the years but worshipping is going a bit over board. He is a man with weaknesses & faults just as we all are. There are many other Indians who can equally well represent India. Also remember that the old have to make way for the new. There have been legends before him and there will be more after him.

I too had great respect and was his fan but I do not believe in putting anyone on a pedestal.Secondly ,nowadays hes out for money and fame with the result hes brought down his reputation with stupid ads and roles which do not suit him atall .Hes also trying to push his son to take his place,which is not possible.Why say that SRK cannot take his place? Remember hes reached this position after touching 50 yrs and SRK is still young,he can take his place soon.Everyone has feets of clay,so also Mr.Bachchan.

In the beginning he used to say, that he has learnt a lot from older actors especially, Dilip Kumar. It was decent of him to acknowledge.
Now he has earned millions of dollars and Rupees. he has flats in many important cities in the world including one in Manhatten, New York, but..
But he doesnt seem to be donating any handsome amount to any institute, like Rajni Kanth, Anupam Kher, Meena Kumari etc did.

buddy-why are you so bothered about it , frankly your question is sort of unclear but still i'd say that he worked in typical masala movies and hardly on the movies with contemporary subjects. yes he was present there at the right time otherwise he wouldn't have survived and i guess same is true for shahrukh.
let me tell you i'm 89 born and feel a lack of some appreciable, handsome hero of our time,, whatsay wait for your DEBUT.

i think he did very well and is the face of indian cinema today but now, i think he has swayed a bit from the right path--going towards earning more and more money by doing whatever it takes--even if that means cheap stunts, and especially his contacts with the samajwadi party and amar singh are bringing down his reputation.

well i think he is worth all the fame, but i guess excess of everything is bad. every other producer would like to take him in his film if he got the money or the power. but i'm just sick of films showing him as the a very supportive dad or a super- can be anything here a cop, businessman......... his name is just added to put more weight in the star cast irrespective of his role. its only my perspective and all depends on person to person.

I think he was good actor in his youth. Now he looks old and has no good acting capabilities compared to younger generation. He should retire.
