How do mind reading games work?

You know those games, where it says think of a two-digit number, then add the two digits together and find that symbol?

Well, guys you wouldn't believe this one, but resently i got windows 8.1 and download it a mind reading game and is so amazing, this one has an every different number per poker card, but different rows up to 99
this game asks the same thing, think of a number from 10 to 99, ad add the two numbers and then subtract them, from the original number, and the result is .... example 33 3+3=6 33-6 =27 So when you click next you look at a chart and look for the number 27, the chart is going to give you the poker card related to number 27!!! You do all this without pointing at numbers or talking!!! Just thinking your numbers from the very beggining!!!
