I am 32 and my husband is 33. We have one very healthy and happy 2 year old, and would like to have another. I recently miscarried (a week ago today). We were actually not planning the pregnancy, but were thrilled none the less. Anyway, I would like to try again soon, but I am scared to death that I will have another miscarriage. When I was pregnant with my daughter we had a very easy pregnancy, but a VERY difficult birth. She was born by c-section after 30 hours of labor... Is it possible that the c-section could be the reason for the miscarriage? Or maybe we are just getting too old, and our chances have already dropped?

Sorry for your loss. I had two miscarriages so I know how you feel. Try again you are still young. Your fertiltiy starts to drop a little at age 35 but that doesnt mean you cannot get pregnant it just means you have less of a chance. You still have plenty of years left and the next time your baby will probably be just fine.

Your chances of getting pregnant actually increase. I'm older then you and I have had more miscarriages then you can imagine and had first child at 35.
Did you know that a study was done on 100 college girls to see how often they got pregnant and miscarried. A blood pregnancy test was used each week and they found that on these sexually active girls, not on birth control pills, that they actually had 800 positive test in one year. We fertilize eggs more then we actually realize. Sorry if this saddens you but it is a positive sign. Just because you know about your losses don't let them cause you to believe that you won't conceive again.
This is how your chances increase! You start dumping more eggs as you get older and can ovulate more then once per month. I went to a German doc and said, "Hey! I ovulate on 8th and 17th day of cycle. She thought I was nuts but gave me an ultrasound each week and sure enough I was right.
Get ready to get pregnant! Try when your ready! If you miscarry and know it have your progesterone levels checked.

sorry about your loss, you can't live in fear of trying again. depending on your health whether you smoke or not, you can have healthy eggs until age 35- 40 or so, then it gets risky. I would talk to the doctor & try again for a couple more years, maybe you will be blessed with one child and you can always adopt. I don't think a c-section would cause a miscarriage.

I am sorry for your Loss! Many parents loose Children and there is never a good reason WHY!
GOD IS IN CONTROL! = = ULTIMATELY you are worried about things that you have No Control over!
I know women that have had C-Sections and then given Natural Birth, and women that have had Natural Births and then C-Sections and then Natural Births!
And NO, you are not Too OLD! That is just a bunch of Phooey!
Ultimately GOD is in control of Life and Death. We cannot know WHY this or that happened!
Just be thankful for the one you have and IF God chooses, you may have MORE!
Oh yes, FORGET ABOUT CHANCES! Those in Las Vegas = Play the Odds! BUT that is just a Fantasy!
Thanks, RR

It depends on the lady, I know some that can't have kids anymore at 22.
My parents had me at 30 and my little bro at 32, so it's certainly still possible.
The first is always the worst, though I'd expect a c-section again for the second. (that was me and my brother too!)
The real issue with having kids later and later is increased chances for things like high blood pressure and autism.

If you would like another child, perhaps you should consult your OB/GYN about possible causes for your miscarriage.
I don't think your C-section had anything to do with your miscarriage.
