Gold, Platinum,copper,silver, mercury are FOUND as the elements sometimes technically called as NATIVE ELEMENTS.
Magnesium occurs as carbonate in a mixture with Calcium carbonate known as Dolomite. It is not found freely because its an rare earth metal and it is very reactive.
Scrap iron is melted in furnaces and then recasted. Aluminium is recycled by electrolytic refining.
They are recycled since it is much much cheaper than extracting them from the ores found in nature and it makes the planet cleaner by eliminating wastes.
