i know that i prolly sound like another nut job that sees what is suppose to be a fictional movie and thinks its true. however i realize that it is not all true but is some of it true or not?

I believe that this novel is based on what could have been. No it is not true but......

It's a novel....which means fiction,but there are some facts included,too.For instance,Opus Dei is for real as well as all the places and objects described in the movie(or the book).Dan Brown had done careful research before writting the book which is not just based on his imagination,but on some facts combined to myths

I have a friend who was a Catholic priest for 15 years. He says that many of the physical symbols actually exist. I can corroborate that by researching through art history books.

But ALL symbolism is up for interpretation ... thus the fiction of the story.

Yes. Brown was quite excellent in mixing truth and fiction to fashion his story. Basic motifs were true in which he fit his characters, but be careful because he manipulated the facts to support his fictional plot.

Nope. None of it. The whole "Priory of Sion" nonsense was invented in the 1950s by a couple of Frenchmen who admitted they constructed the piece as an exercise in "Theater of the Absurd." It's all a bunch of foolishness -- but it still makes for a great read.

Supposedly everything in that book concerning works of art and secret societies is true.

i think there are real facts in there yes....it does say that at the beginning of the book.
