i used to be able to, but now if i try and copy something i can't paste it.

You haven't installed your OS recently, have you?
If you have, just re-install IE.
Otherwise, check your clipboard to see if anything is actually copying. Start > Run > Clipbrd

Are you sure that you highlighted the text that you want? Are you sure that you right-clicked the cusor over that text, or pressed teh CTRL and C keys at the same time, or went to Edit, Copy? Sometimes when I have found certain text that I wish to copy and paste and am unable to do so I find that these simple things were unknowingly forgotten. Try again and see what happens. This time take your time. Not saying that you stupid or anything like that. What I am saying is that when these become so simple that we feel that we are capable of doing them in our sleep we sometimes literally do and skip a step or two.
