Unlike what Ncatt said, bettas are tropical that is why they need temps around 82 degrees. And bettas do need filtration, just like goldfish do, unless you get some magical fish that doesn't produce waste.

Goldfish are coldwater fish that need very good filtration because they are very messy. Bettas only need minimal filtration and too much can cause them to become very stressed. Goldfish also get very big and could eventually eat the betta.

Those of you who keep a fish, or any animal for that matter, in conditions that aren't suitable for that animal shouldn't go around and tell other people to do the same. I could get a dog and lock it in a closet it's whole life but I wouldn't go around and tell other people to be cruel and do the same thing. Instead use that time and actually learn what the animal needs to thrive, not barely survive. BTW I would never do that to a dog just like I would never keep a betta in an unheated, unfiltered bowl either.

why could you are trying this. one is tropical one is coldwater you are able to basically have one male siamese in any tank or they are going to surely combat I truthfully have had siamese battling fish in a tank with a number of different tropical fish, (gourami, tiger barb, mollies and so on..) and the male battling fish didnt attack any of them untill i put in a girl battling fish which it did attack commonly. they know their very own species no longer others, it extremely is oftentimes somewhat shown via protecting a mirror in front of the tank and while he sees himself his gills will come open as a demonstration of aggression. siamese fish are tropical and goldfish are coldwater so till the rustic you reside in is heat you wont be waiting to create the acceptable environment for the two species in one tank besides. Goldfish are in many situations lots larger than siamese fish and could develop swifter if saved in heat water, my goldfish are approximately 9 inches long yet they have no tooth while the siamese fish do, so i think its attainable the siamese could win however the version in length could make it a puzzling activity. under is a few information approximately which fish in large condition word goldfish isn't interior the record Compatibility. Male Bettas do superb in an excellent Fish bowl with some Ghost Shrimp and a few stay vegetation as reported above. in many situations White Clouds in large condition with Bettas and might stay in an excellent Fish Bowl with a Betta, yet each and every so often the Betta will chase and annoy the White Clouds, and extremely not often White Clouds have nipped on a Betta. adult males Bettas can be saved in aquariums with Platies, Mollies, Swordtails, Angel Fish, Danios, Gouramis, a college of Bala Sharks, a college of Clown Loaches, a collection of Corydoras Catfish, and a Plecostomus Catfish.

No - don't think so. Those 2 kinds of fish require different water temperatures - goldfish preferring colder water, and Bettas preferring 75-80 degree temps. There's a list of compatible species here (for Bettas, anyway)

Noooo...Beta's need a heater, gold fish do not. A beta could kill a goldfish for they have agressive behavior at times. Also, Beta's are very picky about cleansiness, and goldfish are relativally dirty. Hope I helped!

male betas tend to be aggressive to other brightly colored fish with large fins. (like themselves) although if the beta was raised with fellow male betas in a tank... they're less likely to be aggressive. since most male betas are singled out very young, they're pretty grumpy when they have to share their bowl. so, probably not, unless you have a boring goldfish.

goldfish and betas can both live happily without a heater or filtration. but goldfish do need frequent water changes.... they're pretty dirty fish.

No, betas are tropicals - they need a heater. Besides that, goldfish are a rather dirty fish and you'd need a great filtration system.

Yes. You can put bettas in with any fish that is not brightly colored, oh and of course another betta.

**Bettas are not tropical fish. They can have filtration or not, just like goldfish.**

***I dont know if I got a special batch of Betta, but mine never needed a heater. I have them for years. In the tank was gold fish, neons, catfish, frogs. The bettas never bothered any of them. I think some people might be overthinking this a little. Just remember, when you buy your betta it comes off a shelf in a little plastic cup...hmmm.***

i have found that they really dont like the filters/moving water. everyone says that they are tropical which i dont really get since i have always put them in unheated water and they live happily for years..??? i thinks its best to have them live alone. also the goldfish will bite at their tails and rip them.
