There was a diary and the ship log that will give you the exact days. It took a while because the prevailing winds come from the west. He did leave from Cuba on Feb. 19 and landed first in the Yucatan in March. The Yucatan was Mayan. He burnt his boats at Veracruz (Vera Cruz) to prevent the men from leaving him.
