my daughter is 14 and very good looking and popular, she is a bit streetwise but not a hard nut, when she goes out i imagine all sorts of things and when shes late, as she always is, i am up the walls with worry just ready to call the police when she breezes in she thinks i over react but i am just concerned i know too well the dangers out there esp. for young girls. she is always in a crowd its only walking home that she would be alone it would be about 15 minutes she would have to walk alone to get home and its along a long road with very few houses and high trees at either side of the street, shes out now and im already worrying. am i crazy

Tell her to call you when she is on her way home
and you will meet her at the end of the road,
so that you can drive her home safely .

If you are really very worried, than just wait for her
at the end of the road, in your car. You can't sleep any way.

Or make her take a taxi home.

I have always told my children to call me, anytime of the night
if they needed a ride home.

I slept soundly, knowing that they would call.

No you aren't crazy you're just worried. When I go out I'm not always with my mom and dad. I might be out with their friends or mine. We kind of established this thing without even really talking about it. Have her call when she's on her way home and make sure, if it's possible that she gets home 5-10 minutes after she calls .

I worry, but not frantically. I know where she is going and with whom and I have her call me every two hours by cell phone. I share taking the girls home with all of the friends' parents. My daughter is a bit naive, but some of her friends are at different levels of maturity, so they seem to balance each other out.

i am a lone parent of a pre teen daughter. i also worry when she is late home, the imagination runs wild with worry. she tells me that i too worry to much. she also says that she knows the right/wrong situations to avoid or get away from. but it doesn't stop you worrying, she phones me or tells me where she's going. i guess we just have to trust that we have given them the right information and taught them the best we can,and they can deal with situations when they happen.it's hard to be a parent weather your in a relationship or not.!

at 14 your daughter should not be walking alone. She should NEVER be walking alone. Why don't you pick her up at a designated time? Curfews aren't bad things for kids. I have 2 girls, I understand your worries.

I am 13. You also have to wonder what we think. Were not just walkin home one day at 10 at night thinking about basketball. We have worries on our mind too. I think that I could get kidnapped, or shot, or anything,Your just fine, we all go through these worries, dont overreact, she will be just fine.
