I know they are designer clothes, but what makes them so expensive?
Is it the material, it is the quality, is it because they hold French origins?
Someone tell me!

You are buying the right to say you bought a Lacoste item!
It's the name only.
Designer brands are usually better quality than the cheapest stuff of course, but are no better in quality than all the mid-priced, regular name items.

It's because they need them to be exclusive...they wouldn't be considered a good brand by people if they weren't expensive. Yes, they're pretty good quality, I have a polo from Lacoste that I play tennis in that has lasted like two years, but they are just overpriced for the status..still love them though.

because lacoste is a well known designer brand. they dont even have to make it out of quality materials, they can put a $75 price tag on a polo tee, just because they know that people will buy because of the good name they've made for them.

well, they are designer. i don't think it has anything to do with the material, since they mainly make polo shirts, but it's the same reason why ralph lauren/polo clothing are so expensive. sometimes if you go to outlet stores, like marshalls or tj maxx you can find "designer clothing" for really low prices.
