Some schools are dropping the SAT test as part of their admissions criteria. Many of those are adopting the ACT instead, so you'd have to take that test instead.
Other schools may have alternative admission standards, but they will vary by the school. Easiest just to contact the schools you are interested in and ask directly.
One note, though. You aren't "special" in the eyes of any college admissions committee. Thousands of people have "political" problems with the SATs and take them anyway because the schools require them. Your "statement" is going to have you looking like a kook or a troublemaker to some.
Part of growing up is realizing that you are going to have to do things you don't like.

Political reasons? Tell me you're not serious.
Any worthwhile college won't even consider your application. If you're very lucky, you might be able to blunder into a fourth rate community college program. You'll get a two year associates degree in political science, followed a minimum wage job in the fast paced supermarket industry. And that's your life.
If you want to make a political statement, don't throw your life away. Get a good education. Work your way into an influential job. Change the world. You'll never do it bagging groceries.

Most Colleges require SAT's, i.e. there's really no way to get around them. However, if you are really adamantly opposed to them here are a few great schools that don't make you report them: Bowdoin, College of the Holy Cross, Bates, and Hamilton. Those are some of the top schools off the top of my head, for a complete list go to http://www.fairtest.org/optinit.htm.
Best of Luck!

I don't think the SAT's are everything. If everything else looks good, hey do what you want. But some colleges require it I think, or some kind of standarized test score so check around. I agree with you, as a teacher, SAT's and tests like that are pointless!

They would not care - there are no good political reasons not to take the SAT - just silly ones. I am trying not to laugh now.
Good Luck!!!

Take the ACT Instead, most universities, accept it. Plus due to your question it seams this more suits your style of test taking. ie. more thought based questions instesd or math.
Good luck.

They would not care.
If you want to take a principled stand, be ready to pay for it. Enjoy community college.
