I don't want to use hormonal birth control and am considering a barrier method (ie. sponge, diaphagm, cervical cap). Does anyone have thoughts/experiences with these? Can you or your partner feel them? Does it interfere with oral sex?

I used the Today Sponge. I liked it, because it was good for I think 12 hours at a time, so spontaneity wasn't interrupted. You could put it in even several hours before you wanted something to happen. I never could feel it when it was put in, and it did not interfere with oral sex in the least.

The sponge is fine. The diaphragm is a pain. If you insert the sponge correctly, neither one feels it. No it does not interfere with oral sex. You might also try the VCF (vaginal contraceptive film) that is even easier and without any after needs. It just goes away.

i've got used the sponge 4 situations or perhaps yet it extremely is basic to apply, it has broken sparkling in a million/2 2 of thos 4 situations. till you're making plans to have extremely soft intercourse then i could decide on a greater solid approach. additionally the main recent time I used it it replaced into with a condom and the condom broke too which makes me contemplate whether friction from broken sponge products made the condom lots greater possibly to interrupt? not sure however.

my boyfriend was born b/c him mom used the sponge as a method of birth control instead of the pill or condoms. I'm sure its a fine method but i would be careful with it.

Elaine from Seinfeld loved it so much she hoarded it when she heard they were quitting making it.

So it must be good.

I would think the partner could feel it unless he was short in inches.
