34% give or take, and now it will increase because of the new laws. The reason is, that those who travel abroad are the only ones who needed the passports, and traveling withing the states needed only an ID or Driver License.

Now even traveling to Canada and Mexico, they will need a passport.
This is not just the Americans, in the Middle East for example how many people do you think do have passports! not many, not even close to 10%. There is nothing wrong with that. Only those who need the travel abroad get them, those who don't, there is no need for them. Just a logical thing to do. No shame in that.

I keep seeing that it's about 27% that have passports. Most people I know seem to have one but not me. I never had a reason to get one before.
Last year, CNN quoted someone saying it was 23%.

I dont know .. but i Live in california And enjoy going to TJ... and i once applied for amazing race so I needed a passport..
