Yes. We had waders. We'd take trout tickling excursions by the light of the moon. Oh!,,,, they were the good old days ;)

Oh Yes, it was a hand made dress bright yellow , the very first day I wore it we went to visit my grandfather. How pretty I looked in that dress but not for long . My brother´s went for a walk in the countryside & I wanted to go too , they jump over a wall into a cow field I stood on the wall & they picked up some sticks and thought it funny to cover me in cow´s poo. All over me it went not a nice thing to happen , so no more best dress

Best clothes to me meant what I had to wear on Sunday for Church or Sunday School and going to visit certain relatives. As all were frequent occasions they got plenty of wear but any that we outgrew were passed down to younger sisters as 'play' clothes. We were bought new 'best' outfits every Easter!
Didn't do it with my own children though as I doubt they'd have worn them more than once or twice before outgrowing them and my daughter would have looked pretty silly in her Brother's old clothes!

My Mum was too busy being Queen, but our dresser did a wonderful job of buying only the best for me. I was allowed to wear them daily.

Yep I had a red dress with a white collar and trim round the hem. always with a paid of white tights and black patent shoes that were always polished so you could see your face in them. It was an outfit that was always kept for special occasions

All the time and the odd occasion there was a party or something, the damn thing was too small for me and she would always say 'Great, now I have to go and buy something new'...as though it's my fault I haven't had my wear out of it!!

Yes, my mom did that quite often really. I wasnt allowed to wear those clothes anywhere but where she said I was supposed to. I couldn't wear them to see my dad and on and on and on..... I did usually wear those clothes, like once before I grew out of them, but not usually any more than that. I think its a mom thing. :)
