Im having a bat mitzvah soon and all the dresses I looked at (at macy's, JCPenny, etc.) my mom dosn't approve of. I tried looking in the girls section, but half of them are not winter colors or are huge poofy pretty pretty princess dresses. Do you know any good "tween" dress stores in Massachusetts? (If they're a chain and they might have a store here, then tell me also)

I live in Massachusetts too!

What is a "bat mitzvah"?

"huge poofy pretty pretty princess dresses" are supprisingley making a comeback.

If you cant find a store for what you are looking for you can try thrift shopes. Sometimes they actualy DO have sweet cotes there. Same with the Salvation Army. You can go there and buy what clothes you want. A lot of the colothes there is actualy pertty good. Just beacuse they are 2nd had doesnt mean they are rubbage!

I had the same problem looking for dresses for my "tween" They were either too "junior" or looked like flowergirls wedding dresses!

I found that I had to stay away from Department stores and malls. Definitely stay away from Deb, Wet Seal, and the like.

Try a small local town with nice childrens boutiques it your area. They will be more costly, I paid 120 for my daughters dress, but she is going to end up getting more use out of it because we love it so much. Try their clearance racks and dont be shy about asking for discounts or sponsorships when it is for a special event!

Also try eBay...great deals there.. Do a web search for boutiques in your area.

Do you have a Debs close to you?
They carry, like, hundreds of dresses.
