Just curious about the timeline of all this.

I live in US and I feel since 9/11 we have had a daily brainwashing by the news and such against muslims and "terrorists".

I see that there is also very strong racial profiling in UK?

When did this start?

I remember back in the mid 90's when I spent sometime in London there was many asians , but everybody seemed to get along. I do think I remember about the racial comments I heard against blacks selling drugs and stuff, but that was mostly it.

Has UK changed that much since then? when did the racial bickering start and why?

One, I highly doubt you are that devoted to Christianity so please stop saying that you are "defending your faith". You're not. Otherwise you'd want the Muslims to stay in England where they can easily be reached by the Gospel. This may come as news to you but preaching the Gospel to non-Christians is one of the central tenets of the faith you claim to be defending. Two, Britain has not ALWAYS been Christian. In fact, for thousands of years it was what we would call quite pagan. Christianity was introduced into England the same way Islam was introduced into North Africa: at the point of a sword. Three, terrorism and ethnicities don't always walk hand in hand. Just ask the IRA. How disappointing it will be for you when you kick out all the brown people out of England and then one day die in a pub from a bomb placed there by a blue-eyed, blond haired Belfast fanatic.

Actually the problem is an ancient one. Ignorance. People in the UK like everyone else in the world have a tendancy to look for something to blame for anything they don't want to take responsibility for. Polish people have always been in the UK but in the last few years they have moved here in huge numbers, they are well eductaed, hard working and a benefit to this society often doing the jobs that we smug Brits don't want to do but also starting up successful service businesses that benefit us all. So thanks to the Polish chap who helped me move home recently and didnt try to rip me off like all the big removals companies and thanks to the Polish family who run the Fish and Chip shop so it is actually open when I want it to be.

As for the ignorance about muslims I fail to see how a handful of misled people can be seen to represent a whole culture. I just don't know any bad muslims. Perhaps I am lucky? Or maybe the media spread malicious miscontent to sell newspapers? mmm?

If we continue to alienate people they might just become bad in our eyes as they struggle to cope with the corner they are pushed into.

As to the lady who proclaims Muslims are banning Christmas, do you actually know of any Muslim that did anything to try to stop you enjoying Christmas? Or did you just hear about it on the news?

I am very worried about the growing politicising of race and cultural issues in this country and hope that, as we have always done in the past, we have the common sense to see what really matters and get on with each other.

Firstly, not everyone has that view,

Two it is down to people(and a chav culture) with a lack of intelligence and ignorance

the Islamic thing comes from partly a stereotypical view and media bias and scaremongering, since 9/11 and the US and UK governments views, and the American and British media

the Polish thing is down to an increase of Poles coming over due to the EU membership, and people's daft view of "they are taking our jobs"

so it's mainly 9/11, the media, and the lack of intelligence, and also sometimes people not intergrating well

The Muslims, probably around the time of the Crusades.
The Polish, probably when the first anti semitics were born.
This is not a new practice. Racism has been with us all from the beginning of time. I suppose we can thank the world wide media machine for distributing the viewpoints of all nations, good and bad, constantly and immediatley.

Mostly since a bunch of muslim nutters flew a couple of planes into the WTC and the Pentagon. Before that, not many people actually took much notice. Now it's a different story, and they have themselves to blame for that.

i are'nt aware of any resentment against the polish in my hometown. the resentment against the asians was started by the terrorists and the radicals, dont know his name but the likes of the cleric hookhand whatever. and all the street protests by the demented few.. and unfortunately we have all had to suffer for this. resulting in antagonism between the brits and pakis. that did.nt exist before.

It started when the press moved on from demonising refugees, homosexuals, west indians, indians, pakistanis, etc. etc.

The gutter press always need a demon to blame the country's ills on - there must always be impending disaster.

absolute garbage.... maybe these people should try integrating into our society instead of volunarily segregating themselves from society, maybe then we'd all get along...but that's simply not how things work out. We were in The UK first, it's our country.

i dont resent the muslims ok if they want to be here fine but as long as they work and accept our laws and our way of living then its cool, but the thing that ticks me off is that i cant celebrate xmas or easter because it offends the muslims and its like its my country dont like it tough deal with it
