He has more experience that JFK did, and he was a legacy.
In my opinion, the most important qualification for presidency is being able to keep an open mind, to listen to all the people, and not just your party. He had an excellent education, he's a superior speaker, and he's brilliant. Not to mention one of the more honest politicians I've seen in a long time.
NowTake Bush - he bankrupted 3 buisnesses, and got off for insider trading when he sold all of his stock right before the corporation collapsed. I was more concerned with Bush's financial disability and ineptness much more than I am with Obama's lack of experience. Obama, like all presidents, would have a team of advisors. Obama's job, is not nessesarily to have experience and knowledge, but is the ability to decide what is best for the country. I believe he would make an excellent candidate in that department.
The other thing about Bush, he has never been forthright with his past on drinking and drug use, while Obama has come right out and said he had experiemented before. I'm not looking for a puritan boy scout for a president, but I cannot tolerate a liar. Take a look at my last question I asked, and you will see this is why I cannot support Hillary in the primaries.

This guy will get ONE shot at being President and he is blowing it if he actually takes it all the way. No one successfully gets 2 shots at being President. I like the guy, though he is waaaaaaaay too naive (left) on many social issues. One day I may vote for him, but not 2008. Our next President needs to have a lot of experience. These are critical times for our country and voting for a youthful idealistic person is dangerous for the country. People are polarized now. Imagine what someone like Obama will do...the pendulum will just swing the other way keeping everyone just as divided as we are now.
Problem is, who else do the Dems have? This political party is a mess and is the reason I'm moderate. Bush is where he is now because the Dems couldn't win the Presidency last time....pitiful. I think we are seeing the result of the Dems drifting too far left.

Too Young ? Nope, the Constitution sets the age, and Senator Obama meets that requirement.
Inexperienced ? Possibly... though I'm not amused with the "experience" of various candidates from the Senate or various Govenorships...
What I'd LIKE is to hear him SPEAK on some issues... lay out some plans rather than platitudes.

Anyone who is age 35 has enough experience to be president.
The that is the law for a reason. it does not take a genius. just a decent person who cares about america.
Obama is a fresh face to you but he has been in the game a long time and is very educated and experienced and capable. But mostly he is smart and cares.
JFK was a greenie too when he stepped up and he did a fairly good job.

Of course he is. But it seems that folks (john q. voter, mainstream media) are more interested in a "American Idle" kind of popularity test rather than the serious business of choosing the most powerful politician in the world. You know the pathetic question "why THEY hate us" in reference to others in foreign countries despising America? Well, could it be that we select our leaders based upon hairstyle and presentation rather than qualifications? Put yourself in their shoes, you live in some 2-bit country where America has much influence. And Americans vote according to appearance and who Oprah chooses.

No-people who are saying this, don't know anything about him or his experience. VIsit www.barackobama.com if you would care to learn anything about him.
Most times people complain how the older generation doesn't know anything and messes everything up. That is why this reaction that a candidate is too young, surprises me.

The fact that they compare him to Kennedy is crazy. JFK served 13 years combined as a Rep first and then a Senator, before he became President.

I could see him as a vice president or speaker of the house and then trying out for the presidency when he's a little older and much more experienced.
