It was basically a combination of ignorance and sheer bad manners. The racism was incidental - something that Indians should be able to understand as similar things happen, unfortunately, in their vary varied country. Caste prejudice has not been eliminated there yet, any more that class prejudice has been eliminated in Britain.

I don't think it was racism, i think she was wrong with half the things she said but she wasn't the only person to be nasty to shilpa. its been all blown out of perprotion and i think it has been made worse because shilpa didn't argue back she went off and cried because shilpa is not the arguing type if shilpa did fight back it would of just been an argument. Ive heard allot of people call jade some dam right nasty names worse then what jade called shilpa so in my opinion there just as much as bullies as jade was. but hay every is in titled to their opinion and that's mine.

yeah it was racism...the minute jade and her friends stopped talkin about shilpa as a person and started saying 'they eat with their hands and she said that they eat with their hands so no wonder people in india are always ill .. that it rasicm and itz out of order .. grr .. lol .. and anyway she was personalli attackin shilpa and bullying her ... shez mean even if she didnt mean to be racist
