A castle is a military base meant to be easily defended.

Palaces are more like luxurious home.

A castle is consider a place for defense, with curtain walls and guarded gates and highly defensable inner tower. A palace is a place a king/queen and family live and once gun powder became available so castles were out of date, a palace was a very big house with space for entertaining lots of people. Both require a large staff to maintain, but a castle is going to have a lot more provision for keeping military type defenders and keeping the surrounding population when attacked.

A castle is a large fortified building like Edinburgh Castle in Scotland whereas a palace is a large splendid residence like Buckingham Palace in London.

A Castle is a large building, often surrounded by a wall and a moat. In the middle ages, noble families stayed in the castles and soldiers defended them from attacks.A palace a large grad residence for King,Queen and other Ruler lived. One happy family I think. Good luck with your answer.
