Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane taking upon Himself the sins of man. This He did voluntarily to fulfil all righteousness. He then accepted His lot when scourged and crowned before being mocked by the crowd and subsequently crucified that we too may rise again. This He did for me!

I don't think I can compare an example of love with another because to two people, each love would seem like the greatest in the world.

"Dear diary
I'm lying on a hospital's bed. My doctor says they are going to have to operate on me and I may not survive. I need a new heart. I also need somebody who would supprot me at these hard moments, but my boyfriend has not come over yet.
Dear diary
The operation has been finished. The doctors say, everything went according to plan, but I still need somebody who could support me at these moments, and my boyfriend is not here.
Dear diary
It's been a month, I've gone out of the hospital, I'm well but my boyfriend has not turned up yet so I've decided to check on him as I'm very worried about what could happened to him.
Dear diary
I was at his place. I was banging on his door for a long time, nobody opened the door, so I checked and it was open.
I entered and I noticed that nobody was in. I found a note written on a sheet of paper and left on a table saying:
My dearest. Please forgive me I wasn't able to support you at all those moments even though I knew how much you needed me. I wanted to make you a gift. My heart does not beat for me any more but I'm so happy I could give it to you as it still lives inside you... I love you."

We look at love in many ways most of them are from the view of how it can help me or the human race. I feel love when I am acknowledged and feel that other think I am important. Therefore love come in the the great events of the world, Jesus when he died if you are a Christian or some world leader, or in the little events.

i didn't see jesus die on the cross but i heard good things about it. but sacrifice overall is the greatest act of love. the example that i have seen was in simon birch--yes it's a movie, but it conveys what i mean and it was something i have seen.

Giving Birth. If someone can go through 9 months of agony then that pretty much sums up love right there.
