(I have qwest.)
They said it would work withen 10min after I left the store but it hasn't yet so I was wondering if I had to activate it or anything. (It's been almost a day.)
How long does it normally take?

it should have worked immediately, but i would call them to be sure.....mine did(cingular)....but i later called and had it disabled because i refused to pay 10 cents for every incoming and outgoing text message...my bill got outrageous it was over $25.00 extra a month just for the texting besides my regular bill of $70.00 a month(shared)...if you plan to do over 50 text messages a month seek a plan where you get a package of texting for one price.
That's how the cellphone companies really earn their bread and butter if off of texting(addictive)and other extras which they charge individually for,... which is all anyone does nowadays ..

Seems to me that if the phone is working text messaging should be working. Then you are not doing something right.

Have a friend text message you and see what happens.
