Mary, Queen of Scots, was a Catholic. She left Scotland and went to England because of disputes with the Presbyterian Church. She was imprisoned by Elizabeth I and was later beheaded for taking part in a plot to remove Elizabeth and put her on the throne. She was moved to Westminster Abbey by her son when he became King of England after Elizabeth had died. He didn't send her to be buried in Scotland as she wouldn't have been welcome at that time.
