What do you mean by "matrix" here?

If your talkin about the barroom trick with 4 bottle caps ther is actually 5 bottle caps you kindof cup the fifth in the hand that your transering too and then pick up the one you were supposed to send over.. not the best of explanations but if you know there are 5 you figured it out
