Most North African countries are mainly Muslim, this means that women there have very little rights.
In Southern Africa,Botswana ,Zimbabwe,Namibia and South Africa are mostly Christian . So women there have more western rights.
However according to traditional tribal cultures all over africa ,Women do not have many rights. The men (chiefs in particular)make all desicions and women have to go according to these decisions.
Try Researching African Cultures ie Zulu ,Xhosa and then incorporate these principles.

I am a Muslim woman in Saudi Arabia and I know all these non Muslims are telling you lies. In the Arab world which is from Egypt, Sudan, Morocco, Algeria, all through the Middle East to Pakistan women are diamonds in Islam. Women and girls are treated like queens in Islam. Women can vote, can own property, can choose their own husbands, can accept a dowry from their potential husbands, they keep their last name when they get married, they don't have to pray or fast on their periods, they keep all their property that they owned before marriage, they have the right to get an education, they can work, they don't have to contribute to the household income, any money they earn at work they can keep, they can ask a man to protect them on the street, they can inherit property, they can testify in court and their say in court counts, etc. Men let women go to the front of the line in grocery stores.

That question is too general. Africa is a continent made up of many countries, all of which have their own governments and laws. Check wikipedia.

I agree, if you are talking about Somalia, Nigeria, Ethiopia...these r Muslim countries...and traditionally the women have no rights but to raise children. If they have money, they get education, come here open up braiding hair salons, or work in senior healthcare or become mechanics or educators or gas station attendants. I have not had happy contacts w/ these women...they r evil against me for some reason...Don't hate me because I'm beautiful!
