I believe he is gay, last I heard he was living in Hawaii and growing Kiwi fruit, I haven't heard if he has AIDS, I don't think he is. I know he is older and he probably does have health problems, but not AIDS. Once in awhile he puts out an album too

He doesn't have AIDS, His Health issues that many people assumed was due to AIDS was actually from a diseased liver. He has had a transplant and made a full recovery.

He is not openly gay
As far as I know he doesn't have AIDS, he did have a kidney transplant a number of years ago.
