How do you log time codes? If I was working as an AD or Script Super and needed to log time codes on my Daily Reports. Where would I get the time code? Is it on the camera? And what is procedure...do I ask the AC for it?

In post and logging time codes was simple, since I could just copy it off the Beta deck. But when you are shooting on set or in the field, how would one obtain time codes?

Kinda depends on the camera. most non-film cameras have it on the display. If you can't read it in between takes, I'd say go ahead and ask the AC, they should know it or be able to find it quickly.

I haven't any thought concerning to the tech log. Re: the trasnponder. the floor radar that keeps song of the place plane are has 2 issues: all airplanes look the comparable, this is they produce a "blip" on the show that looks like each and all of the others, and not very sturdy at that, because of the fact the radar is barely seeing the capability that bounces off the airplane and returns to its antenna. 2nd, a floor radar can't ensure the airplane's altitude, in basic terms its 2-dimensional region. The transponder overcomes the two those issues. it rather is a touch radar receiver and transmitter. while it gets a pulse from the floor radar, it sends a pulse lower back. because of the fact it is actuallly transmitted from the airplane and not purely meditated off it, it is plenty more suitable. The air site visitors administration human beings assign a different code to each and each flight, that's a 4-digit quantity entered into the transponder. while it re-transmits each and each radar pulse, it additionally sends the code, so the air site visitors administration human beings can tell especially what airplane is represented by way of each and each blip on their show. That code is widespread because of the fact the "squak code". The transponder is likewise related to the airplane's altimeter so as that the transponder transmits the airplane's altitude, so as that the floor radar show can show that suggestion besides. a sort of secondary use for the transponder is to place across emergeny infomation. particular codes are reserved for plane that have lost radio verbal replace, been hijacked, or suffered another emergency.
