I know Led Zeppelin has had some long songs, and In a Gadda Da Vida is near eightteen minutes long. Are there any other songs that are longer?

The longest rock song I know of is Neal Morse's ?, clocking in at 56 minutes long. Second longest I know of is Jethro Tull's Thick As A Brick, being 45. You'll find a lot of prog-rock bands ahve some VERY long songs. Here's a good list of a lot of good long songs. Also, The Grateful Dead did EXTREMELY long versions of their songs in concert. They could play the same song for an hour if they wanted to, and make it amazing.

Revealing Science of God by Yes-20+ Minutes
The Great Nothing by Spock's Beard-27 Minutes
2112 by Rush-20 Minutes
Close To The Edge by Yes-18 Minutes
Octavarium by Dream Theater-24(I think) Minutes
Karn Evil 9 by Emerson, Lake, and Palmer-28 Minutes
Supper's Ready by Genesis-22 Minutes

So, yeah, long songs are great. I prefer extended pieces largely over your average 4 minute song, because they give the artist a lot more time to explore the music, and allow for a lot more emotion to come through.

There's one song by Mark Mallman that's 52 hours long, setting the world record, even though it wasn't considered by the Guiness Book.
