Because its reserved by the file system?

You cant make a folder or file with any of these names:

CON, PRN, AUX, NUL, COM1, COM2, COM3, COM4, COM5, COM6, COM7, COM8, COM9, LPT1, LPT2, LPT3, LPT4, LPT5, LPT6, LPT7, LPT8, and LPT9

Becoz con is a reserved word.Its a word with internal file name.Like when u give copy con command in Dos it creates file name of con which is invisible to user.So u cant create con name folder or file.

the con is used by console... so u can not create file with the name con..

e.g.

c:\> copy con abc

this commands copies what ever you type on console before pressing the escape character (^Z) to the file named abc.

there must be another folder with the same name just change it a litte like _con or spell out more of the word . any way this is a guess but good luck.
