I would say that you should go to a special clinic, they deal with all sexually related problems, not just STDs. You are more likely to get the specialised treatment there and a urologist will be on hand if needed; Good luck;

The only suggestion mate is if you have a PPO contact a specialist directly or if you don't and have an HMO and must go through your primary...get a second opinion, or a third, or a fourth, until you get to a doctor you feel is giving you the time and assurances you need for your situation. Also, contacting a specialist directly and asking questions is perfectly okay. Good luck.

You should call one of those health assistance lines, they may tell you at least which specialist would suit you best. Having pain is never a sign of things being ok. Get a second or more opinions. The doctor who told you you were ok, well, if you turn out to have something, call this previous doctor up so he can get updated on whatever condition you may have. If you turn out to have something, that doctor could have fallen into malpractice. Hope it turns out to be ok.

i'd get a second opinion, you might have a water infection which has spread up to your kidneys which is causing the back pain

You know your own body so you should keep seek help. For women there's a gynechologist which is separate from a regular physician. Isn't there such thing for men?
