I am planning on going to university in the US in 2008 from Canada, so I wanted to know when is it possible to take the SAT test. Is it possible for me to take the test in September 2007, and apply for university when I get the scores back, or is that too late?

Thanks

I work in college admissions, and we get this type of question all the time. The big factor is if the schools you are applying to have deadlines. If they do, you will need to make sure that you have your scores back in time to meet the requirements. On the College Board site, you can see when the scores are released for each test...they haven't posted the spring dates, but you might want to look into them once they are posted. Most schools prefer to see at least two sets of scores. Most of us also take your best combination of scores, so it is in your best interest to take the exams at least twice. Good luck!!!

If you can, try to take the SAT twice. Take it once this spring and once next fall. The reason being is you combine your two top scores (say you do better this spring in math and better next fall in english). If you only have the opportunity to take the SAT once, try to get a test preparation booklet before you take the test in the fall. The fall is not too lake to take the test if you plan to attend university in 2008. Good luck!

you will need the scores before a university will accept you, but you can contact the university and start the process of admission. if your grades are good enough, they might start the process pending SAT scores.
