I moved the mirror to clean behind it, pushed it a little too far and the whole fitting came off in my hand. Im now left with the small circle shaped attachment on the windscreen that the fitting clamps onto but can not seem to re-fit the mirror. It seems to need alot of force to push the fitting back onto the attachment, i dont want to over do it incase i permently break it. Is this a garage job or is there a technique to do it yourself? Any help would be great.

check the fitting on the mirror. THere should be a very small black set screw. Loosen the screw, slide over the circle on the glass and retighten the set screw.
