easy mate. Gerrard is by far the better player. He has everything, excellent passing range, scores lots of goals, picks an ailing team up by the scruff of the neck a la Roy Keane, hard tackler, motivates, inspires, can play anywhere across the midfield and his work rate from box to box in awesome. He is a genuine big game player. Lampard on the other hand flatters to deceive. He scores lots of goals, probably more than Gerrard, but that's about where his contribution ends. He has no defensive responsibilities at all with people like Essien and Makalele doing the hard work for him, his passing is average, he can only play central midfield, he is not the best tackler, he does not inspire or motivate, he is simply not vocal enough, hence the reason Chelsea have slumped since Terry has been injured. In a poor England side it is claimed they cannot play together, so Gerrard has been moved out right and continues to put in good performances, Lampard has retained his preferred central midfield role and continues to put in nothing more than 'workman like' performances.Lampard is a good player but not world class like Gerrard.

Stevie G has carried a average Liverpool team for years and there success is directly due to him (FA Cup goal, European success) whereas Frank has lacked something at the top level (world cup - he was awful).
So Gerrard all the way.

It has to be Stevie Gerrard, he performs better at both club level and international level..... Frank Lampard seems to have a prob on the international scene
