No, and if you try to make out it is, you'll get done for all sorts of nasty offences.

Oh no! You had no part in the contract to transfer ownership! And it would be dishonest to suggest that you do! Presumably the car is with the person who really bought it.

You really should get onto DVLA as soon as possible as any parking fines etc will come to you and - while you may not be liable - it will cause you distinct aggravation! And you should get in touch with the dealer and sort all this out. You might even get a warm glow of satisfaction for "honesty".

Not necessarily. The V5 shows the keeper of the car, not the legal owner. To be the legal owner you will have to prove you actually purchased the car. Get it sorted out as soon as possible as any offences committed in the car will come back to you and you will have the grief of sorting it out.

You get Ownership with a bill of sale/contract to purchase. What you are is the registered keeper, and the first point of contact for speeding tickets, parking fines, VED renewals &c. You need to contact DVLA and the selling dealer PDQ to get this sorted

You dont want any of there speeding fines or anything,
Did you actually buy a car and do they have your log book by mistake?

NO if you look on the book it says that the registration document is not proof of legal ownership, you should send the book back to dvla, if you try anything funny you will end up in all sorts of trouble. do it asap

the log book shows only the registered keeper for legal purposes such as handing out fines, it does not show who owns the car.
