Even if you didnt ask for it, here is a word of caution if you are using any free download site.Everybody is looking for FREE stuff. In reality nothing is free. One needs to pay something if not cash then in other kind.There is always some risk in using free download sites which might land you in trouble in future.Most of the times these FREE sites are ILLEGAL.

*Does not charge per song download (unlimited download with a very little one time fees)
*Must have large stock of songs/music with them
*Download process must be faster
*Must provide Free 24 hour Technical Support
*Must have Good Quality MP3 format
*Free from adware/spyware/malware/pop ups and *viruses* , as they can damage your computer/gadget.
*You must be able to burn your own CDs
*Compatible with iPOD.

LIMEWIRE!! Bear in mine, that free music is ALWAYS illegal...
Limewire is a program that is free to download, as when you download the music, you download it from other users (its called application sharing). This is why some people may get viruses from doing this, as the files are not scanned by the program. Just make sure you have a good firewall and anti-virus program running.

Go to GarageBand.com. It has great unsigned and independent new artists that will let you download mp3's for alot of them for free... legally, because they are trying to promote their music. Check out the charts and there is good stuff at the top because their rating system actually works. Give it try

Limewire (This is a good one.)
Kazaa (i would not recommend)
mIRC (probably the most complex to understand but the best. It has music, movies, Xbox games, PS, PS2 games etc. The plus is that it has no virus because it has its own virus detection program.)

Downloading is illegal, but there are tools/apps that you can download for your PC that allow you to record music or radio that is being played through your PC, they are (for now at least) legal.

try IMESH it is completly free program, u can also download songs freely from filecroc, limewire,morpheus :)

Go to www.Morpheus.com and download the version that's compatible with your version of windows. I use Morpheus everyday for FREE.

What they don't mention is the viruses that come with it.

hey i tried limewire and it completely wrecked my comp so i advise do not get it. if u have and it works then great for you. i use three websites
