how can we control this practice ( barattilios on public highways) during our town fiesta.the local government choose a contractor to find baratillios.they dont consult the business sector in our place..it has given us,the business community a big loss in terms of sales because the stores are being coverd by stalls..what legal action can we do?

Speaking of fiesta, it is fiesta in our place today! =) Well, in my very humble opinion, they govt does not need any consultation from you business sector, because the fact that fiesta are just seasonal, these businessmen from baratillos are just trying to make a living just like you do. But the fact that you don't own the street in front of your stores where the baratillo stalls are usually built at, I guess there is nothing really you can do about it. =)

If your business is legitimate (with permit issued by local gov't.) you can actually file a complaint. Yes, its true that you don't own the highways but blocking a legitimate business is another story. Besides, if they (local gov't.) installed baratillos along the highway, this is obstruction and may put the citizens in risks of road accidents.
