What makes a person an Honest Corporate Criminal in your city?

At first I thought this was an odd question, but as I thought about it, I realized you could be honest and also a corporate criminal. When an individual has a position of authority at a corporation, he/she is responsible for corporate actions. Obviously, a corporation is a legal entity only--i.e. not a live person. The officers of a corporation have responsibility for the actions of a corporation, which they knew of the actions of not. This is fiduciary responsibility. An employee of my organization sexually harasses his secretary, for example. He is discharged. The EEOC or, if appropriate, a law enforcement agency will punish the corporation for allowing it to happen--before they knew it was happening--even if they corrected it as soon as the company found out. Likewise, if a corporate employee commits a criminal action, like embezzlement, the person's boss may be punished. The law applies a "SHOULD have known standard" instead of "did NOT know" standard. Therefore, I can see an honest person punished for acts of his/her business. Maybe that individual is guilty of not watching another prson more carefully, but that is negligence at worst. Therefore, I can see how your scenario could occur.
