By not teaching your daughters certain basic things like to never leave your drink alone. Or to not accept drinks from strange men when you didn't see the bartender pour it. To not drink too much and make sure there is a friend around at all times.

By not teaching basic things to your sons. Like people are NOT required to give it to you just because you want it. That women are not objects. That it's not OK to take a women in bed without her consent no matter how drunk she is. That drugging her, besides the fact that it's illegal, doesn't make the sex a conquest, just that you can take advantage of a weaker person. That even if you are going to have sex with someone you don't love, it must be with someone you like and it must be soberly consensual.

Notice how most of it goes on the guy?

I think not as much as the girl's actions. I suppose it depends on the age/maturity of the girl, but just because the parents have not completely talked to her does not mean the girl has to put herself in that position. I think parents should talk to their kids and have rules about going out, etc., but there are only so many things a parent can do to prepare their children and then hope for the best. In the end it is up to the child anyway, but environmental factors like how we are raised/our values do play a role.

If parents don't inform their daughters of the harsh realities that exist in society, the girls are not privvy to what some idiots will do to take advantage of them.
Let's not shelter our kids to that extreme.
