They have University, Seasons, and several others. I've never played "The Sims" before, but I'd like to give it a try. What do you recommend?

Yes! I love the Sims 2! It has amazing graphics and is completely customizable.
The first game you have to get is the base game, which is simply The Sims 2. None of the expansion packs, such as University or Seasons, will work without it. After you have installed the base game, you can add any expansion that you want. I recommend starting with University, as it adds a lot of new gameplay options.
Make sure your computer meets the system requirements for the game. The Sims 2 is a very graphics-heavy game so you need a good video card and lots of RAM.

The Sims 2 is definitely worth it! First, you need the original Sims 2, others like University, Pets, Seasons(Which isn't out yet, I keep checking), Nightlife, and Out For Business are expansion packs that requires the original Sims 2 game pack. I recommend The Sims 2 Pets because you can raise cats and dogs and they can have puppies and kittens. Expansion packs are about 30 to 40 dollars. If you get a "Stuff" pack, they're about 20 to 30 dollars, but "Stuff" packs like Family Fun Stuff and Glamour Life Stuff only give you new items. Have fun playing!

Go for it get the Soms 2 it is an awesome game. Get the base game and then play for a few days and then you will be running to the store for the expansion packs!!!!

I upgraded from the original Sims to Sims 2 and have never looked back.

i recommend dat u get sims 2 and then get nightlife, open for business and glamour stuff! they are the best so far bt the others are brill aswell apart from family fun stuff!i dnt like dat game its nt really good! ne way hope u enjoy it!lol!

the sims is always is worth it. that is the best game in the world. get that game if u what to have a good time.!!!!! get all of them to exspand the world of Sims2
